New Army Project Started to Avoid Finishing Current Army Project

Local tabletop wargamer Alex M. announced the start of an ambitious new army project this week, citing “creative momentum” and “a sudden spark of inspiration” that sources confirm appeared moments after he considered finishing his current army.

The original project, now 87% complete, was reportedly abandoned after Alex realized it would require painting “just the boring parts” such as rank-and-file infantry and edge highlights. Instead, he purchased a new starter box for an entirely different faction, describing the move as “a fresh challenge.”

“I just wasn’t feeling inspired anymore,” Alex said, gesturing toward multiple neatly primed models. “This new army really speaks to me. Also, it only needs like two colors.”

Friends report this is the fourth time Alex has experienced a creative breakthrough immediately following near-completion of a previous force. Shelves in his hobby room now contain several “almost done” armies, each missing roughly the same final units.

The new project has already progressed rapidly, with models assembled, primed, and carefully arranged for photos. Plans for a custom color scheme, alternate basing, and optional magnetization were finalized within hours.

Asked when he plans to return to the original army, Alex paused before replying, “Once I finish this one.”

At press time, Alex was seen browsing online for another faction he “might try something fun with next.”
