My Big Black Friday Buy

As I said on Friday, I was looking closely at the Battle Systems terrain for my big Black Friday purchase. I was looking at getting this stuff over the last few weeks, but they announced on their Facebook page that they would have a big bundle sale, so I held off. It was definitely worth it.

For a couple of years, I’ve been trying to figure out what I wanted for Necromunda terrain. I’ve looked at large sprawling MDF setups, I’ve begun work on a large foamboard tower, but I’ve had my eye on the Battle Systems terrain the whole time. I backed their Kickstarter over the summer, so I have a bunch of fantasy terrain coming in. Now I have a big Star Wars one-shot planned for New Years Eve (keep an eye open on the site for info on that), and I knew I wanted to make it special.

Going into Black Friday, I knew there were three things I needed for the scenario I had in my head: The Galactic core set, the Arrival Bay, and the Shuttle. Everything else was gravy.

They are selling the Galactic core set as a bundle with a bunch more terrain added in, so in the end, for the same price I would have bought the three things I needed, I ended up with a TON more terrain. I’ve put the images below of everything I’ve got coming in, and it’s a lot.

I’ll be using this terrain for the aforementioned Star Wars game, but I plan on using it for so much more. Kill Team, Necromunda, Star Wars Legion, Star Wars Roleplaying… this basically covers me for anything I might need sci-fi.

In the end, I ended up with:

Once it all arrives, I’ll be doing a big unboxing video and I’ll share it here.

The Battle Systems sale is still going on through Christmas, so go check it out. Their Core Space game looks pretty cool, and comes with a ton of terrain. I’d have picked it up instead, but it’s a pre-order, and I doubt I’d be getting it in time for my game.
