D&D Creature: Leopasser

Over on Twitter, I saw a fantastic piece of art. The artist is , and I immediately fell in love. Tiny little sparrows with cat legs and wings. It’s a griffon! I love griffons, and the idea of these tiny sparrow griffons flying around in my D&D worlds makes me smile. So, now I present the Leopassers. While they aren’t very dangerous on their own, a swarm of them can be a problem. Enjoy, and go check out  for more fantastic artwork.

Leopasser

Tiny beast, unaligned

Keen Sight. The leopasser has advantage on Wisdom (Perception) checks that rely on sight.

Dimunitive. The leopasser is so small it must occupy the same space as a target it is attacking.

ACTIONS

Multiattack. The leopasser makes two attacks: one with its beak and one with its claws.

Beak. Melee Weapon Attack: +2 to hit, one target. Hit: 1 (1d4-2) piercing damage.

Claws. Melee Weapon Attack: +2 to hit, one target. Hit: 1 (1d4-2) slashing damage.


Swarm of Leopassers

Medium swarm of tiny beasts, unaligned

Armor Class 12
Hit Points 20 (10d4 – 10)
Speed 10 ft., fly 50 ft.

Swarm. The swarm can occupy another creature’s space and vice versa, and the swarm can move through any opening large enough for a Tiny leopasser. The swarm can’t regain hit points or gain temporary hit points.

Keen Sight. The leopasser swarm has advantage on Wisdom (Perception) checks that rely on sight.

ACTIONS

Multiattack. The swarm of leopassers make two attacks: one with their beaks and one with their claws.

Beaks. Melee Weapon Attack: +4 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target in the swarm’s space. Hit: 7 (2d6) piercing damage, or 3 (1d6) piercing damage if the swarm has half of its hit points or fewer.

Claws. Melee Weapon Attack: +4 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target in the swarm’s space. Hit: 7 (2d6) slashing damage, or 3 (1d6) slashing damage if the swarm has half of its hit points or fewer.
