Hellboy: The Board Game on Kickstarter Now

The Hellboy Board Game is live on Kickstarter now. Hellboy holds a special place in my heart, as he’s the reason my wife and I are together (long story, I’ll get into that at a later date). I knew it was coming to Kickstarter soon, but didn’t realize HOW soon.

They funded really quickly, and have moved into their stretch goals, of which there are quite a lot. I’m not sure if I’ll be able to resist the lure! The miniatures are unpainted, despite all the fantastic paint jobs you see around the Kickstarter there. The game comes with:

  • 10 double sided room tiles (a mix of 2×2 and 1×2 with a linen finish)
  • 4 Agent Cards
  • 50+ cardboard tokens (damage counters, HQ board markers, target priority counters, furniture, doors, etc., with a linen finish)
  • 13 custom dice
  • Six narrative Case File scenarios (each scenario includes between 6-8 cards)
  • Card HQ Board (linen finish)
  • 74 Mini Cards (Encounter Cards, Back-Up Agent details, Equipment and Starting Items)
  • 48 Standard Cards (Deck of Doom Cards and Enemy Cards)
  • 18 plastic cubes (Agent action tokens and generic black tokens)
  • Coloured bases to fit on Agents
  • Rulebook

Plus all the Kickstarter stretch goals. Honestly, the cost doesn’t seem justified for me for just the core set, but with all the stretch goals, it’s more than worth it. Plus, if you’re just a fan of Weird War or Cthulian stuff, it’s worth picking up for more minis for your own games.
